Meet Evan

Born and raised in Victoria, I have spent my career supporting children, families, and communities through education, childcare, non-profit leadership, and public service.

My experiences in Victoria and Nunavut have shaped my commitment to strong schools, accessible services, community partnerships, and opportunities for every child to succeed. 

I respectfully acknowledge that Victoria is located on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Peoples, represented today by the Songhees Nation and Xʷsepsəm (Esquimalt) Nation. I recognize their enduring relationship with these lands and waters, and their ongoing stewardship of this territory.

What Evan Stands For

Priorities

Safe schools. Strong classrooms. Supported families. Responsible governance.

The conversation starts with the public funding model for our public education – especially the public funds that are going to private schools. Those funds are needed in our public education and can be used to hire more staff, create more classroom spaces, and provide better supports and resources for students in our public schools. Overall more funding is needed to support our education system and every dollar directed to private education is a dollar that could be strengthening the public schools that serve the vast majority of B.C. students. I am advocating for a review of the public funding model to determine where our public funds should be allocated. Public Funds should belong in public education.
